The original 990 designers were tasked with creating the best running shoe on the market. The finished product exceeded expectations. When they first hit the shelves in 1982, 990s sported elegant pastel colours as well as a three-digit price tag, the likes of which had never been seen before. For running enthusiasts and trendsetters, 990s were a brand synonymous with quality and refined taste. Since 1982, there have been design updates, and a wider choice of colours, however, the status symbol spirit that 990s offered has never changed. Simply put, the 990s are so excellent that we have never stopped producing them.
