The legendary designer was born in Lombardy, Italy. Valentino Garavani moved to Paris at the age of 17 to pursue his fashion interest and studied at the prestigious École des Beaux-Arts and at the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne. He became an apprentice in Jean Dessès and Guy Laroche's, persistently sketching fashion illustrations which became the signature Valentino Garavani aesthetics today. He returned to Italy and established his namesake brand in Rome. Valentino Garavani established his reputation among the Italian elite and in 1960, he met Giancarlo Giammetti and formed a deeply-rooted, prevailing relationship. Giammetti is famous as Valentino’s loyal business partner and chairman of the brand. Over time, Valentino Garavani is acclaimed as the top designer of Italian haute couture, being much-loved by Hollywood celebrities. The House of Valentino garnered worldwide stature as one of the leaders of luxury fashion today. Eventually, Valentino retired and Pierpaolo Piccioli was nominated creative director in 2016. It was the start of the further evolution, a new era for the Italian luxury brand. Excellent execution, contemporary vision and ethereal perspective of fashion makes the Valentino brand standout, as portrayed in the Valentino Garavani accessories collection. The pieces represent a tribute to modernity, rock, but always with the unique style of its founder. Among the iconic pieces today are the leather studded biker jackets, vertiginous heels with aggressive details and cosmopolitan bags.
