미쏘니(Missoni)는 오따비오 미쏘니에 의해 1950년대에 런칭되었다. 몇 십년 이후 지그재그 패턴으로 대표되는 이탈리아 세련미의 정수를 전달하는 브랜드로 성장했으며 현재는 의류 뿐 아니라 홈 컬렉션과 호텔 사업에도 진출해 있는 세계적인 기업이다. 미쏘니의 지그재고 패턴은 보았을 때 직관적으로 미쏘니의 제품임을 알아볼 수 있게 함으로써, 1970~80년대 젊은 프레피족이 즐겨 입는 바시티(varsity)스웨터로 인기를 끌며 사회적인 상징성을 갖게 되었다. 미쏘니 부부는 커플디자인 작업에도 참여했는데 '타이(Tai)'라고 도 알려질 오타비오 미쏘니가 과테말라, 아즈텍, 잉카의 텍스타일과 추상적 인상주의, 아르데코 페인팅에서 영감을 받은 패턴을 직조하는 테크니션을 담당하며 새로운 스타일을 창조했다.
