Embroidered denim is making a big comeback

Dark, indigo or black, this season’s biggest denim trend isn’t about which color wash of denim you wear, but how they’re embellished – namely, with intricate and beautiful embroidery. Say goodbye to understated denim as designers are having a lot of fun with playful decorations that bring us back to the 70’s and offer a new bohemian vibe.

The overall theme of this embroidered denim trend is floral, but we’re also seeing a lot of animal influences like butterflies, tigers and even peacocks. The colorful handiwork is seen at Stella McCartney, Just Cavalli, Fendi, Iceberg, and of course, Valentino. Embroidered denim has also been embraced by fashion enthusiasts and is the perfect piece to take you from day to night.

This throwback trend is oftentimes hand stitched and customizable, making it highly covetable and a signature piece in any wardrobe. We’re seeing embroidery on the pockets, as artwork splashed on the backs of legs and as entire masterpieces across the entire jean.

How to Take the Embroidered Denim Trend From Day to Night

Incredibly versatile, embroidered denim is the hero piece for your day to night looks.

To dress your denim down for a weekend look, try pairing with a velvet bomber jacket from Maison Margina

or military jacket from DSQUARED2. As a bonus, you can wear your denim, bomber and military jackets all year round.

To dress the look up, try pairing them with crushed velvet platform heels from Jimmy Choo.
