I love fall.  I love early fall and I also love late fall. Why so much love? Because it’s cool enough for coats and jackets but not so cold that the winds freeze your cheeks off as you run to the subway.

Reinvent Your Work Wardrobe for Fall

As the weather starts to get a little chilly, it’s time to start rethinking our work ensembles. For a classic and polished look, let’s start with a base of black. Personally, I like black in the same way that Johnny Cash liked it, but it’s good to add a splash of color, be it white, red or blue.  The next few outfits will reinvent your work wardrobe with some killer accessories for office-appropriate fall fashion.

City Chic

Moving on, the Jeffrey Campbell ankle boots have just enough texture to look great with the delicately printed dress. Picture this look at the office then worn out to an after-work dinner.  Carry it off with one of the cutest handbags to come from Dolce & Gabbana and you are working it!

Luxe Leopard Redux

Every few years leopard print makes a comeback.  The last major leopard push was 2005, so its time to pick up this old friend and look at it with new eyes. In a creative office, take a walk on the wild side and wear leopard Leather Crown shoes with a similarly patterned Dolce & Gabbana backpack.  Dark wash denim boot cut jeans by 7 For All Mankind flatter your curves, while the high waist provides professional levels of coverage. Top it off with a tweed Ermanno Scervino coat for an instant style upgrade. Get your hands in a pair of cashmere-lined leather gloves that are as elegant as they are practical.

Flower Army

Like the aforementioned leopard print, the Military influence often makes a reappearance from season to season. It’s easy to understand why: solid tailoring and precise cuts pair beautifully with feminine florals. Which is why the combo of this Moschino jacket with brass buttons looks great with the Dolce Gabbana red, black, and white flower print skirt and lady-like red handbag.  The Dsquared2 earrings are a subdued call-back to the oversized buttons of the jacket.

In such a polished look, it’s refreshing to add a touch of low-brow taste. Besides, who couldn’t use a little extra height while climbing the corporate ladder?
