/ Ann-Sofie Back

Swedish designer Ann-Sofie Back investigates the everyday and the banal through her clothing, often rendering the invisible visible and celebrating the details of the disposable. Back completed her MA in womenswear at Central Saint Martins in 1998 and has been showing a Prêt-à-Porter collection each season since October 2001. At her catwalk shows she eschews the perfect beauty of professional models in favour of quirky-looking friends and acquaintances. Back is also fascinated by mediocrity, which she attributes to her youth in Stenhamra, a particularly nondescript suburb of Stockholm.
