Seoul Fashion Week SS17 just wrapped up and we want to celebrate their remarkable street style

So what made Seoul Fashion Week SS17 stand out from the others? For starters, fashionistas in Seoul are fearless when it comes with experimentation and are bold when it sharing their own personal style.

It’s easy to see why Seoul street style is so infamous during fashion week. It’s no coincidence that Korea is one of the fastest growing fashion markets in the world. The fashion culture is no less than unique and insiders from all ends of the world are looking towards the country for an unaltered, new spin on individualism and street style.

Seoul Fashion Week SS17

Last week, Dongdaemun Design Plaza was the epicenter of Seoul Fashion Week SS17 and showcased the upcoming trends for the Spring 2017 season. Outside the spaceship-looking landmark, however, was where the real show was happening. Spectators crowded around the event, hoping to get a glimpse of an idol or an actor, but most especially to share their own personal style and check out the latest fashion trends.

The country loves fashion and self expression so it’s hardly surprising that the outfits on display at the event were pretty next-level and we were obsessing over the outerwear for both men and women.

The Outerwear…

As we’re leaning out of Autumn and heading into winter, the outerwear in Seoul was out of this world. Seoul street style icons play with layering combinations that feel effortless and remind us that individualism is still very much alive. We saw neo-punk, 90’s grunge and rebel polished style-setters congregated to catch the attention of street style photographers and spectators alike.

If there was a recipe for how to dress in Seoul, it would say something along the lines of ditch the rules and experiment with whatever makes you feel your best. Koreans have mastered how to use fashion as a tool for self expression and have a real sense of comfort in knowing they can make a statement wherever they go.

Checks, trenches, denim, leather, cheeky sayings and mismatched fabrics were all prominent during Seoul Fashion Week FW16. The most interesting to us was the outwear that split down the middle combining two completely different fabrics.
