The creative force behind the label is Maisie Schloss, a Chicago-native who graduated from Parsons Design School. Schloss worked as womenswear designer at Yeezy for four years before being selected by Ye (formerly Kanye West) to be the first recipient of his incubator grant, which provides mentorship and financial assistance to emerging designers.
“Kanye has been very supportive of me and really encouraged me to pursue my unique vision and aesthetic,” Schloss said.
Schloss launched her first collection in June 2019, drawing inspiration from the world of rhythmic gymnastics and robotics. The collection, which was first presented during an invite-only event at Night Gallery in Los Angeles, was met with critical acclaim and became coveted by celebrities and fashionistas worldwide.
So, why “Maisie Wilen”? The name is a combination of the designer’s first name and her mother’s maiden name.

In the three years since the launch of her first collection, the brand has become a celebrity favorite. Schloss’s eclectic designs have been spotted on Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Camila Mendes, Miley Cyrus, Megan Thee Stallion, and many more.
