Fall is the perfect time to take a walk on the dark side. Soon Halloween will be in the air. Being spooky and dark is part of the season. And besides, who doesn’t love a bad girl?

Fall Fashion: Bad Girl Style

I know I watch Grease every chance I get, just to sing along with Rizzo. I also pretty much live for Nancy from The Craft.  If you’re like me and you like to be a bit dark, this season is your season. This Fall, fashion lineups have some great bad girl style options for the daring.

Orange is Not the New Black

Fall Fashion: Bad Girl Style

shop heron preston on italistDespite what the fashion headlines try to tell you, black is still the new black.  A see-through top with no bra takes a lot of confidence, but if you’re willing to let out your inner bad girl, go for it because this Alberta Ferretti sheer top is FIERCE.  Pair it with a leather-look John Richmond brocade skirt–or even leather pants–for a look that is too hot to handle.  The black wool cape is so chic that I might dare to go bare underneath after all. The jet-black Emporio Armani choker and Sermoneta fingerless leather gloves are key. And because we’re ignoring the rules, just like real bad girls, the brown (not black) ankle boots are the only way to finish this outfit off.

Vamp It Up

Bad Girl Style

Forget those new-fangled Twilight vampires (see what I did there?) and imagine the night-crawlers from True Blood who bring the sexy vampire hotness. Can’t you jut see Pam making a hot night at Fangtasia even hotter in this outfit? The Moschino dress in the 1950’s cherry red looks great beneath the fur jacket.  I like it with some knee-high boots by Michael Kors, and some fashionably macabre Alexander McQueen bracelets. Throw in a blood-red Stella McCartney wallet and you’re ready to see and be seen at the club while Concrete Blonde’s Bloodletting plays in the background.

Back in Black

Have you ever seen an outfit and known that you could be anyone you wanted to be (a young Monica Bellucci, for example) if you could only have that outfit in your wardrobe? Well, this is the one for me. I’d even brave the super-slim and sleek Twin Set black leggings because they are such an excellent foil to the ultra-furry Simonetta Ravizza jacket. The Isabel Marant top works. The Stella McCartney fringe purse works. The Alexander McQueen corset belt works overtime. And the JFK shoes bring home the bacon. These proportions don’t just work, they WERK IT!

Ahem. I suppose I’m saying that I really like this outfit and that it is well put together. Now dig deep and find your inner bad girl. It’s time to let her out!
