All the best street style from Paris Fashion Week SS17
The whirlwind that is fashion month is almost finished for yet another season after Paris Fashion Week SS17.
This season marks the debuts of new bloods in storied Parisian houses: Anthony Vaccarello, who’s replacing Hedi Slimane in Saint Laurent, Bouchra Jarrar in exchange for Alber Elbaz in Lanvin and one-half of the duo behind Valentino, Maria Grazia Chiuri, filling in Raf Simon’s vacated post in Dior.
Though there was much to discuss on the Paris catwalks, we’ll never tire of keeping an eye on the latest trends on the street. Throughout the five days of runway shows, presentations and lavish parties held during Paris Fashion Week, the styles on the street, made as big an impact as many of the latest ready-to-wear collections.
Between bomber jackets, embroidered details, florals and even loud splashes of animal print, volume and lots of it was the top trend during all five days during Paris Fashion Week SS17.
Voluminous pants and exaggerated sleeves were seen on their own and layered with sexy tanks and slip dresses. These romantic sightings stood out amid the sea of traditional Parisian styles.
And, in spite of the plummeting temperatures as fall begins to settle in, we spotted enough sheer to make us blush…in a good way. We absolutely love sheer.
Our Favorite Off-Runway Looks from Paris Fashion Week SS17
Plush Velvets: PFWSS17
One of the season’s biggest trends has got to be velvet-dressing. Besides being a staple on most fall 2016 runways (taking form of pajama-inspired looks at Alberta Ferretti or cascading yellow at Valentino), it’s the exemplary transitional day-t0-night look requiring minimal effort.
We saw delicious, voluminous velvet in the form of skirts, relaxed fit trousers, dresses and even boots — proving both the versatility and popularity of the fabric right now.
Voluminous Sleeves: Paris Fashion Week SS17
We are obsessed with how dramatic this feminine look is. From bell sleeves to Victorian details and floods of volume, this trend is tapping into fashion’s collective memory in an utterly beautiful way.
Relaxed Bottoms: PFWSS17
Taking notes from classic Parisian style, relaxed silhouettes were seen everywhere and we love the look. French women obsess over cut. Clothing that’s too form-fitting or structured has no place in the French woman’s wardrobe. These relaxed bottoms give your style a carefree touch by sticking to relaxed yet tailored fits without looking too baggy.
Sheer Volume: Paris Fashion Week SS17
The City of Lights is known for romance and sex appeal, oh là là, so if you can’t wear sheer now, then when can you? Take notes from these head turning moments.
